Beyoncé is da queen! Dalam perhelatan Grammy Awards ke-65 yang dilaksanakan pada 5 Februari 2023 malam waktu setempat, Beyoncé memecahkan rekor dan resmi menjadi musisi dengan jumlah kemenangan terbanyak dalam sejarah Grammy Awards dengan total 32 piala. W-O-W! Jumlah tersebut dia dapatkan setelah berhasil memenangkan empat piala dari sembilan nominasi di tahun ini.
“Terima kasih banyak, saya berusaha untuk tidak terlalu emosional. Saya mencoba untuk menerima malam ini. Saya ingin berterima kasih kepada almarhum paman saya Johnny, yang sudah tidak berada di dunia ini namun senantiasa hadir dalam semangat. Saya ingin berterima kasih kepada orangtua saya, ayah dan ibu, atas cinta dan dukungan mereka kepada saya; dan kepada suami dan tiga anak saya yang menonton di rumah. Saya ingin berterima kasih kepada komunitas queer atas cinta yang kalian berikan, dan karena telah menciptakan genre ini. Tuhan memberkati Anda semua. Dan terima kasih banyak untuk Grammy,” kata Beyoncé dalam pidato penerimaannya.
Dalam acara yang digelar di Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, tersebut sebanyak 91 piala Grammy dibagikan dan rekor-rekor baru tercipta. Selain Beyoncé, Kim Petras dan Viola Davis juga turut mengukir sejarah baru.
Musisi asal Jerman, Kim Petras, resmi menjadi penyanyi transgender perempuan pertama yang memenangkan piala Best Pop/Duo Group Performance. Di sisi lain, Viola Davis resmi menjadi EGOT (gelar yang diberikan untuk seseorang yang pernah memenangkan piala prestisius Emmy, Grammy, Oscars, dan Tony Awards) dengan memenangkan Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording di Grammy Awards tahun ini.
